 FAQs

about our services

  • No way! This is a self-care and wellness class first, art class second. The creative process is inherently healing, regardless of what you’re creating.

  • Katie is a trained leader, mentor, professor, and healing & expressive arts facilitator. Katie’s art and healing specific training includes Mindful Art Teacher Training, Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Facilitation Training, Healing through Art Teacher Training from California State University, Expressive Arts Institute Sand Play Clinic, plus many more relevant art teacher, expressive arts facilitation, and mindfulness-based professional development programs.

  • Healing through art is the practice of using creative expression - painting, journaling, movement, sound, or collage - as a pathway to emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. It’s not about making something perfect; it’s about allowing creativity to help the body and mind relax, process, and restore. The act of creating activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s “rest and repair” state), helping to lower stress, regulate emotions, and support healing from the inside out.

  • Arts in Health is an evidence-based field that bridges art and medicine. It recognizes that engaging in the arts can reduce anxiety, ease pain, improve mood, and enhance overall quality of life - especially for people living with chronic, autoimmune, or life-threatening illness. Inner Peace Art Studio’s programs are designed through this lens, combining creativity with mindfulness and compassion to support whole-person healing.

  • No. Our programs are evidence-informed healing arts experiences, not clinical therapy. They complement your existing care and focus on creative wellness and self-care.

  • Not at all. Every program is designed for all levels - no art, journaling, or writing background required.

  • All sessions are low-energy friendly and self-paced. Healing happens gently, one breath, one brushstroke, one word at a time. Need modification ideas for accessibility? Email us at hi@innerpeaceart.co
